IAM - North-West Branch
The vision of our branch is to create a community of practitioners for the North-West; connecting professionals and building relationships across sectors to share learning, strengthen capability, and support asset-related decision making in the North-West.
We run a programme of different types of events with a focus on practical application, career development, and cross-sector collaboration. We also connect with other professional organisations, share events and learning whenever possible.

Exposure to a range of Asset Management topics
- Practical takeaways you can use yourself (approaches, lessons learned, and resources)
- Cross-sector insight — what’s working elsewhere and what transfers well
- Career and Professional qualification support, including mentoring
- Connections with other Asset Management professionals to share experiences and knowledge

The North-West Branch is currently planning a programme of events for 2026, including:
- Panel discussion: Shifting the Regulatory landscape – changes in the Water Sector and what it means for the North West.
- New ISO standard and Strategic Asset Management Plans, including chartership themes
- Site visits (Wastewater treatment works, Manchester Airport)
- Branch social
- Links to national IAM activity (e.g. conferences UK Chapter, and support)

Get involved
We’re always on the look-out for new ideas, and encourage members to contribute to make these happen. Some ways to get involved include:
- Attend events and bring your colleagues
- Share a case study / or join a panel at an event
- Help coordinate or host an event
- Table an asset management challenge that you’re working on – and would like some support.
